From your 2012 post I resonate with your message “Our circle of empathy generally expands over time… but sometimes as a retrospective rationalization.” The future of meat production and consumption will depend on both how we manage our resources as well as appetites, but also how our relationship with animals evolves. There are many possible sustainable food future scenarios and solutions, and “clean meat” invites us to imagine beyond marginal efficiency gains into a more compassionate possible world.
