3 Simple Tips to Lose Weight


We all gain additional weight from time to time. It is important to tackle weight gain immediately when you notice it. There are some simple things that you can do to lose extra weight, and here they are.

1. Watch your diet

Research has recently revealed that the most dangerous thing in your diet isn’t fat as we were previously made to believe. It is in fact sugar. We consume way more sugar than is good for us. Every time you drink a soda, every time you gorge yourself on a dessert, you are actually doing yourself more harm than good. If you can cut down on sugar, you will see a big drop in weight. Some foods that you think don’t have sugar actually have it in great quantities. What you can do is make a list of the things that you love to eat most and then go online and see how much sugar they actually contain. If they have high amounts, drop them from your diet. You should also reduce on beverages like commercial juices and soda and of course you need to focus on healthier desserts.

2. Exercise

There is no substitute for exercise. You must get out there and get moving. 2 or 3 times a week, an hour each time is enough. It doesn’t matter what you do so long as you are able to break a sweat. Many people start an exercise regimen and then drop out. If you are likely to do that, it helps that you have an accountability partner. You may be able to afford a personal trainer, you can look for a friend who also needs the exercise or who already does it. Do it together and you will find that you are more motivated to keep going. It is important that you acknowledge milestones. When you drop a couple of pounds, it is important that you stop and savor the moment.

3. Check your wardrobe

Yes, clothes can deceive you into thinking that you are not gaining weight. If you find that your pants don’t fit around anymore, the answer isn’t to go out and buy new pants. It is to aim to get the old ones to fit. The discomfort alone will keep you psychologically keen on losing extra weight. When your pants can fit well again, reward yourself with a couple of new ones.

Weight gain is normal in all of us but it what we do when it happens that counts. Work to get rid of additional weight as soon as you notice it.
