How the Stray Cats Learned to Strut
Slim Jim Phantom

I was 9 when the first Cats record came out and it blew my little mind as well as helped me connect the musical dots. Buddy Holly, well, Gary Busey as Buddy, had made me pick up the guitar at 6, and now there was a contemporary, some would say “punk” or “new wave” band playing that kind of music. Their music was like a Rock-n-Roll education- one that set me down a lifelong path of going to the roots of music I loved. Just like the Cats themselves had done (I know now). Loved reading this and I’m cranking “Rumble in Brighton” right now.
