A few years ago, we only need to open one or two messaging applications to communicate with all our relations. Along with advances in communication technology and intense competition, there are a number of new messaging platforms such as Line, Facebook, Whatsapp, and other messaging applications. These messaging applications each have unique features.

Different messaging platforms that have their respective features causes each person to download different application, most likely because their tastes or closest friends download the same application. For example, our parents have Whatsapp on their cellphones, our friends have Line, and our relatives have Facebook. The difference in downloaded application results in the need for us to download, open, and close each application to read and answer all messages from others. Of course this is time and energy consuming (and battery life) to keep switching applications. This problem is also felt by business owners because they certainly cannot manage what messaging applications their consumers use. Just imagine, they need to answer consumer questions from three or four different platforms simultaneously. How to overcome this challenge? Omni-channel is the answer.

So what is omni-channel? According to TechTarget, “…a multi-channel approach to sales that seeks to provide the customer with a seamless shopping experience whether the customer is shopping online from a desktop or mobile device, by telephone or in a bricks and mortar store.”

Omni-channel connects all messaging platforms and displays all chats on one screen, and can reply to each platform on the same screen. With the omni-channel approach, business owners can open and reply to chats without switching to other applications. With the omni-channel approach, business owners can save response time and handle more customers on a daily basis. With the omni-channel approach, business owners can profit more. With the omni-channel approach, business owners can update their business appearance in one effort, without updating each platform.

By choosing omni-channel as sales approach, business owner receive the benefits of faster customer service and easier development. This will surely help businesses realize this method can be helping their daily income.
