I wholeheartedly applaud you. I was in a similar situation a few months ago. Basically forced to quit after requesting more than one month of maternity leave, I was stranded with a newborn at 36. Tons of experience but about as attractive to employers as glass of leftover wine the morning after. I too suffered (not only all that postpartum crap), but the real cold hard fear of being a big fat failure and turning into a housewife (a role I have great respect for, yet has always been my nightmare of turning into). I’m happy to say that I am back on my feet, my OWN business is booming and I’m happier in my career than ever before. Unfortunately, as we get older, we also get more afraid. We have more to lose and more to prove, especially as women. BEst of luck to you!
