In Canada we “tolerate” difference
We believe in our democratic social policy
No Ferguson’s here.
In America feelings are calculated
maintained as figures -borrowed stocks-
repaid with lives.
In America, the hand that buries is invisible
But the brands of bigotry
branded benevolence that
theive the poor.
What fragments do I lose
Against the transient trees
Within iced rivers
Amoung a (chilled) bright sun?
What voice do I hear in the murmurs
In the faces
— -amoung sighs, cries — longing desperation?
