I completely agree. As someone who took the more traditional route and is now in industry, I know that if you match a bootcamp grad with the right role with appropriate mentoring, they’ll thrive. The problem is convincing hiring managers. You outline a lot of great points, the one I would add is considering whether CS Fundamentals are really fundamental to the role. A lot of bootcamps stress coding in a particular language over algorithms, which means that their grads do less well on technical interviews. But who is to say that binary trees make you better at iOS development or better at web development? I think the industry needs to rethink technical interviews as a whole.
