Thomas Rhett released “Center Point Road” — the titular track of his upcoming album — with Kelsea Ballerini Friday.

Falling in line with Center Point Road’s other singles, “Remember You Young” and “That Old Truck,” the song also delves into themes of nostalgia and growing up. For Rhett, that means indulging in the adolescent experience to the fullest: partying, playing football, being carefree, and falling in love. It also means reveling in these things while he still can because youth doesn’t last.

It makes sense then to turn the track into a duet and hear how coming of age in the southern landscape of “Center Point Road” has impacted more than one person. Ballerini’s voice complements Rhett’s well and she adds both youthful mischief and emotional maturity to the lyrics.

A piano-heavy ballad, “Center Point Road” is a poignant love letter to life and a longing for days past.

Rhett’s album, which also features collaborations with Little Big Town and Jon Pardi will be released in its entirety on May 31.
