The Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade is an American television special that airs on Christmas Day annually on ABC, airing live and taped, primarily inside the Magic Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, approximately one month prior to Christmas Day.
Past shows have included segments from the three other Walt Disney World theme parks (Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park), water parks and other entertainment areas, as well as the original Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, and all the overseas Disney parks — Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland. Other segments of the annual broadcast included The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Adventures, Disney Institute and Disney Cruise Line. The program has aired annually since 1983, with exceptions in 2000 when Disney aired a Christmas Eve “Tracking Santa” special instead.

Santa Claus parades, also called Christmas parades, are parades held in some countries to celebrate the official opening of the Christmas season with the arrival of Santa Claus who always appears in the last float. The parades usually include themed floats, dancing or marching groups and bands playing Christmas songs. They are moving pageants that typically end near the centre of a city. Often sponsored by department stores, they may reinforce the store’s brand recognition during the important Christmas shopping season.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is an event hosted at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Florida on select evenings in November and December leading up to Christmas. It features holiday entertainment such as a parade, dance parties, character meet-and-greets, and complimentary treat stations. The event runs from 7:00 pm to midnight, but party guests may enter beginning at 4:00 pm. The event requires purchasing a separate ticket from the general admission ticket counter

From 2003 until November 8, 2019, a holiday edition of the Wishes fireworks show, Holiday Wishes, occurred during the party.[6] It included a medley of the original Wishes soundtrack with some Christmas season songs mixed in. The show started with Tinker Bell flying over the castle with narration by Jiminy Cricket. In addition, a lighting display was projected onto the castle, illuminating it in green so that it resembled a Christmas tree, and featuring Santa Claus.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party did not take place in 2020 or 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, a Very Merry After Hours Event was held instead.[7] Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returned in 2022, as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration,[3][8][9] and is scheduled to be held in 2023, as part of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary celebration.
