My 16 year old daughter Emily has this idee fixe to move to Iceland and attend university there as an undergraduate. Only problem is, almost all classes at the undergraduate level are in Icelandic. She’s trying to learn Icelandic online anyway. We’ll see how that flies, like pigs on the wing…We were talking about going in early October with my 81 year old mom, but Grandma still has a part time social work practice and she would have had to plan three months ahead to make the trip. Might have to wait until April spring break, and get the plane tickets six months in advance like you suggest. Summer’s not an option anyway, she’s planning on being a camp counselor, starting with CIT training. She definitely wants to ride Icelandic horses though, there’s a farm here in Vermont that has them and does trail rides.
