People know Christopher Hsu as a hard-working and diligent professional ever since he was a student at Stanford University. His persistent hard work helped him earn his B.S. in Management Science Engineering in just 2.5 years. Supervising Major Deals of Tsinghua University

Chris Hsu Kilometre single-handedly spearheaded and advised Tsinghua University to acquire 51% of H3C and Hewlett Packard China. The $4.6 billion transactions for the leading internet, data storage, and network equipment business of H.P. were among the most crucial precedents and joint ventures in US-China technology history, achieving the last major US-China CFIUS approvals by the U.S. Congress.

However, the recent achievement that further escalated his fame was to become the advisor and originator of the USD 1.8 billion buyout deal of Spreadtrum Communications by Tsinghua University. The deal was significant not just for Tsinghua University but also for China and placed Christopher Hsu well ahead of his competitors. Owing to its world-class education and achievements, it holds the foremost rank among the leading universities in China.

Career before Kilometre

Before Chris Hsu founded Kilometre and stepped in as the CEO, he was the Founding Partner and CEO of a private equity and hedge fund group, Abax Global Capital. At Abax, he oversaw a wide team and negotiated Abax ́s minority equity partnership with Morgan Stanley. Under his expert supervision, the company completed numerous significant transactions spanning across China, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Australia, Macau, Japan, and Hong Kong. Some of its major deals were noteworthy and got complete media coverage, especially from the house of Wall Street Journal.

Prior to Abax, Mr Christopher gained critical acclaim for being one of the youngest Managing Directors of Citadel Investment Group, a global hedge fund group. As a Managing Director, Chris Hsu Hong Kong negotiated several deals successfully. One such deal was the private transaction with Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. of Australia. The deal later established Fortescue Metal and Andrew Forrest as among the wealthiest companies and individuals in Australia.

Besides leading such significant deals, Christopher Hsu made numerous noteworthy investments in several companies. He was an early-stage pioneer investor in SpaceX, private space research and exploration corporation owned by Elon Musk. He also made a notable investment in Spotify, the leading digital music streaming and media provider globally.
