Is there evidence for the Book of Mormon in the Bible?
This scripture really really stuck out to me today.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
We are considered Jesus’ sheep if we have taken his name upon us. We’ve already been converted. In this passage Jesus is speaking in the present tense, “Other sheep I have…” who aren’t currently in Jerusalem or “which are not of this fold.” Jesus says they shall literally hear his voice, making them one fold, under one shepherd.
For those of you who don’t know what the Book of Mormon is… around 600 B.C. before Jerusalem was destroyed God led a prophet named Lehi out of Jerusalem. Lehi and his family (God’s other sheep, who were not in Jerusalem) was lead to the Americas. They were followers of Christ and were promised that Jesus would visit them after his resurrection (“…and they shall hear my voice”). The Book of Mormon is a record of Lehi’s family and descendants, which testifies of a people who followed and prophesied of Jesus Christ.
