Jared Higgins aka Juice WRLD is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. If you’ve heard of him, it’s probably through his viral singles “All Girls Are the Same” and “Lucid Dreams”. Those singles have been in the top 10 for the past few weeks, and were recently knocked out by songs from the Drake album. The latter is still averaging 3 million plays a day, with a total of over 142 million streams on Spotify. The Lucid Dreams music video has over 38 million views on Youtube as I’m typing this, and it was released in May. The All Girls Are The Same music video has over 30 million views on Youtube right now. Both were directed by Cole Bennett of Lyrical Lemonade. The thing about phenomenons like this, is that oftentimes there’s the assumption among the rap community that rappers coming out now under the ‘mumble rap’ label don’t possess actual lyrical skill as MC’s.

BUT.

This man Juice WRLD went onto Tim Westwood’s legendary Radio show in the UK and rapped off of the top of his head for 1 hour and 10 minutes. For context, the entire rap game fell apart earlier this year when Black Thought rapped for 10 minutes straight on Funk Flex’s show on Hot 97. TEN MINUTES. To be fair, that’s amazing. But…

HE. RAPPED. FOR. AN. HOUR. AND. TEN. MINUTES.

Link.

Ridiculous, and Juice WRLD wasn’t Rae-Sremmurd-rapping where 90% of his time was spent with ad-libs. He went IN, with punchlines, rhyme schemes and cadences switching rapidly and organically and sounding on point the entire time. I personally can’t think of any other rappers that have accomplished this on live radio.

I just came in to say that this shit is wild. Here’s some playlists that have Juice WRLD in them, if you haven’t listened to him yet, you really should.
