I follow Ashton Kutcher, because of his work with THORN, he uses his money and status to create positive change in child sexual exploitation. I believe his intentions were genuine and just needs help asking the right questions as you have pointed out. I do believe we need educate others on these matters and call them out. However, if we beat down men the second they don’t say something exactly right then they will stop speaking out and trying to do the right thing. They will stop asking the questions. Especially if we publically humiliate and shame them. I like this comment he made after the backlash of these questions, “Hope we can find space to be wrong in the pursuit of getting it right.” I am thankful for every man who is trying to get it right, who is working on it, who is willing to make himself vulnerable when he clearly has nothing to gain. He could take his money and his time and blow it but he’s doing things for social good.
