Your (kind of) Church
The strictest definition of “Church” is a building that is used for religious services and public worship. Yet a more open ended interpretation of “Church” may consist of feeling a Zen connection and a peaceful communion within your personal temple, indulging in your spiritual devotion to your sacred calling. Your “Church” may well be a building but it could also be but not limited to:
Taking a long drive in a vehicle alone listening to exactly what moves you
Hiking a trail alone
Walking along a beach alone while watching and listening to the eternal waves come ashore
Meditation (alone or guided with a group)
Yoga (alone or guided with a group)
Singing (alone or with others)
Writing (alone or with others)
Playing an instrument (alone or with others)
Chanting with others
Painting alone
Drawing alone
Gardening alone
Sewing alone
Repairing or restoring a vehicle alone
Cooking (alone or with others)
Baking alone
Concentrated intricate craftwork alone
Solo physical movement
If you believe the human body is a temple then it is our duty to use whatever vocation we find ourselves in toward divine service for our fellow human beings.
