Good piece. I was reading around in Simone de Beauvoir’s “The Second Sex” and was drawn to a number of her remarks: “The problem of women has always been a problem of men;” “Man defines women, not in herself but in relation to himself;” “The goddess is a male invention to perpetuate their domination;” “The first obstacle to my escape is this woman’s body barring my way, a voluptuous body with closed eyes, stretched out full, ready to perish.”

Next time a guy bugs you at the bar, send him to the library.
