When we thought VR would rise in 2016, it was silent. When we believe VR will dry, it comes back with hope. Vr starts from Gaming; the game drives VR forward. But VR is not limited by games, nor will stop at games.

We are eager for the improvement of VR in medical education.

In the past decade years, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applied in the medical field. The surgical simulator is significant and meaningful. We should be happy if we heard that hospitals paid money to buy equipment. Nobody likes to be the first patient of a surgeon. In the current success in VR technology, surgeons can observe the patient and get the feedback. “Cardiologists find it easy to perform on a mannequin named “Samantha” that provides a realistic experience, completely risk-free.”(immersive Gaze, 2018) In others words, it provides an immersive environment for training students. Except for surgeon, VR is also a safe way for caregivers, doctors even patients. The practitioner can learn knowledge and technology in a more immersive and realistic environment than just reading books or watching videos.

Another VR technology in the initial stage is exposure therapy. It will expose a patient to a variety of different stimuli to make it gradually tolerable and adaptable. “VR can help boost the efficiency of exposure therapy by creating fictitious, safe, and acceptable situations.”(immersive Gaze, 2018) As an auxiliary, the patient knows everything is fake, but the vivid image shows the afraid things make them get training between virtual and reality. Finally, tolerate or overcome the fear.

In general, from the breakthrough in treatment mode and that actual clinical applied, VR medical treatment is still in the initial stage. We still need more evidence to prove that VR medical is useful in the future. The virtual reality will make VR medical more interesting.
