There’s a lot to digest here, since I didn’t notice this stream of though until the end, the end is the easiest for me to write about:

No, we don’t have to make anything at all, and that’s some of the point. It all depends on why you create art in the first place.

The idea that a mother’s intuition does not have a marketable value is either accidentally or intentionally misogynistic, and someone can make money from the skills of parenting alone, for instance, in child day care and such.

Any skill can be monetized, really, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be able to make a feasible living from it. Finally, if your goal is to create something that survives for generations to come, there isn’t much reason to worry if the current one cares as long as your work can survive and be discovered by the generation who will like it.
