The blood that ran thick
Almost clogged up my arteries
Trying to tear my heart apart
And leave blood on the leaves
Worrying about who
Eats, shoots and leaves
Best believe we get in knots
Over family ties
No surprise that
You hit icebergs on rocks
When doing knots
Over rocky seas
That hereditary disease
That infects us all
Where the ones
We’re related to
Want to depict your downfall
Or expect the most
When doing the least
Or do the most
At times you least expect it
Or find ways to
Neglect what should be
Protected from the world’s ills
Until the family you adopt
Become the names on the will.
We’ll soon meet again
Breaking bread
Over breaking news
Flash captures moments
Whether light or dark
Sparks fly
When opposites charge
At each other
Because hard truths
Carry greater weight
Than soft lies
New bloodlines created
Through long trees
On fertile ground
And new life
Begins new dreams
Through the vision
Of old eyes.

I wanted to write something demotivating but gave up halfway. Quiet Storm, sporadic creative.
