Hi, thanks for your response!

I agree that things have changed since the EU referendum in 2016. It’s true that the major parties were pro-Brexit in the last election, but I think that was a position born of electoral expediency more than anything.

Labour’s own position on Brexit is still not clear — and it benefited from an influx of remain voters in key constituencies — particularly in London (including my own seat of Enfield Southgate, where the conservative candidate was portrayed as a hard Brexiteer in Labour attacks).

In terms of things changing, I think that will come when (and if) public opinion shifts. When things become certain and our post-EU situation becomes clear I believe the government will be forced to go to the people. And if the terms of our exit are not attractive it could put the issue to bed.

Of course, it is hard to comment on Brexit in any meaningful way — as the truth is no one really knows what is going to happen.
