In Dunkirk an estimated 400–500 people are sleeping rough in the forests. Even vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and toddlers as young as one month are living there in unbearable conditions, with only the support of some volunteers. Food is being provided daily but other essential aid such as clothes, sleeping bags, tents, hygiene products are not being distributed very regularly and only in small amounts, a volunteer reports. To make their life at least a little bit easiert, especially blankets are requested at the moment.
