In this article, I will not try to explain Big Data in incomprehensible and boring terms. On the contrary, I will touch on how it affects our lives and try to make Big Data tangible and visible to you. But first, we need to answer the questions of what Big Data is and how it was created.

What is Big Data?

Put simply, big data is larger, more complex data sets, especially from new data sources. These data sets are so voluminous that traditional data processing software just can’t manage them. But these massive volumes of data can be used to address business problems you wouldn’t have been able to tackle before.

History of Big Data

Although the concept of big data is new, its origins date back to the 1960s, when the data world was just beginning with the development of the first data centers and relational databases.

In the 2000s, it began to be understood how much data users generate through Facebook, YouTube, and other online services. Technologies such as Hadoop that make working with big data easier and less expensive to store, and NoSQL started to gain popularity during this time.
