Daily Devotional: Be Established

When the tempest passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous is established forever. Proverbs 10:25

If we are established in God’s righteousness, meaning if we are truly a follower of Jesus Christ. We will still experience the tempest passing by, but our fate will be different from that of a non-believer. We will be able to stand firm in our faith; we may stumble, but we will not be swept away by her lure. The wicked man, the man without Jesus, will not be able to or even want to resist the tempest and their fate is eternity with Jesus Christ. We must evaluate our relationship with the Lord and make sure that we look as ourselves righteously but are missing the righteousness given by Christ.

Extended Version:

God is the ultimate judge. There is either the wicked or the righteous, either God’s people or God’s enemy, either believers in Jesus or non-believers. No matter, how you describe it. There are only two options. You can believe in the God of the universe sent His son to die on the cross for us or you can be swept away by your own denial of the truth. These two options should drive us to share the truth with others. We should desire all that we know to be known by God. Let the grace that God has given you drive you.

Challenge:

Thank God for his work on the cross, which has established us in Him.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for your help and keeping me righteous through your son. In Jesus name, amen!

Additional Scripture:

Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns, whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away! Psalm 58:9 ESV

The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land. Proverbs 10:30 ESV
