Book Review — Stephen King’s On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Cindy M Jones
I’ve read many “How to” books on writing but this one by Stephen King gave me the freedom to move past my own fears and “Just Do It.”
One of the biggest takeaways for me is King’s passion for enjoying the story himself as it unfolds and trusting your instincts.
There are dozens of formulas out there that claim to be the path to real writing. What I’ve discovered with King’s On Writing is something that most don’t tell you. Writing a story is a gift, your imagination is a gift and if you aren’t enjoying the story or the process, then no one else will either.
I’ve decided to stop pursuing a career and start enjoying the journey. I hope to write stories that others will enjoy as well.
Thank you, Mr. King for your advice and candor.
