When I was home, I was always a morning person. In my family, we have this habit of sleeping early (usually around 9–10pm) and waking up around 6am. I would usually do some homework in the morning and it was always very productive for me because my mind had time to rest, so I felt extremely fresh. However, when I left for university and started in dorm, I unfortunately lost that habit because sharing dorm room with someone else comes with its side effects…….(btw I was actually laughed at for sleeping early lol!).

It took me a long time before I got back that “wake-up early” habit. One thing that helps is to put away the phone or any electronic devices at least one hour before sleeping. It is hard but necessary! I got back to my habit of reading before sleeping and it really helped. Also, noise-cancelling headphones or ear plugs help especially when you have noisy neighbours.

I have to say that I love waking up early! Like you, I feel I can achieve so many things in the morning and my mind is very fresh/open/clear. I don’t need an alarm anymore, my biological alarm wakes me up at 6am everyday now :D
