Thank you for sharing the multicultural vision of your classroom community. I really liked that you said, “ When a student knows a topic, it is a good practice to ask them to explain their reasoning. This presents the material in the voice of someone besides the teacher and builds confidence in the students. Valuing students for their funds of knowledge and as members of their home and school communities will lead to a strong class community.” I truly believe it is important to know that our students come with knowledge and we are simply tapping into their skills. I am so excited to hear about your future teaching and how you will engage your students/community.
