Unpacking “Bao”

On Pixar’s short film “Bao”, the Asian immigrant experience, and the cultural barriers that linger within multi-generational families. Originally published as the opening piece in Generasian Magazine (December 2018). — Eggplant-shaped characters fill the pages of Domee Shi’s concept art.
