We Said No to Dengue!

RAC Cinnamon Gardens

The Dengue Mosquitoes along with the very deadly virus it carries along with it, is nothing short of a devastating problem for Sri Lanka and the many families who have lost loved ones due to it.

The Rotaract club of Cinnamon Gardens under the Rotaract District 3220 Sri Lanka & Maldives organized a Dengue eradication project which consisted of two Phases, Phase I being a poster competition for all children to artistically express what they think about Dengue and the impact it has created, and Phase II a Clean up to eradicate the presence of such mosquitoes and discontinue the hazardous outcomes of an unclean environment.

On the 26th of August 2017 The Rotaract club of Cinnamon Gardens organized a ‘Shramadana’ at Ramakrishna Mission, Wellawatta to initiate this clean up and eradicate the pesky little Mosquitoe and the other deadly diseases that could be spread due to an such an environment.

The Shramadana was successfully completed after a tedious 4 to 5 hours and the Rotaractors of Cinnamon Gardens managed to get the job done!

All in all the day was nothing short of successful and brought about an immense feeling of accomplishment to our Rotaractors. it is in fact true that, Together Everyone does Achieve More.
