There is no “technology industry”

Thank you for raising the masking issue so well. Like the guy who buys a ServiceMaster franchise and specializes in cleaning medical office buildings and says he is in the healthcare industry.

The lack of intellectual initiative by the media has allowed “other” to morph into “the Tech Industry.”

A few years ago a wonderful book called “Value Migration” exposed the industry group mislabeling and the hidden costs to investors when a sloppy narrative was used to position the enterprise. Investment due diligence is challenging when doing a ratio analysis of “other”.
