The contact lens: a long time ago, it was a heavy, cumbersome lens of glass designed to be shoved in to the eye. It scratched the cornea, caused headaches, frequently broke, and was prone to falling out.

Technology has advanced significantly, however, that days you can find various lenses, all made for different purposes and much more convenient than their cumbersome forebears.

Among a great many other benefits, lenses provide sharp definition and vivid colors, which glasses sometimes just cannot mimic. Glasses get smudged, they get cracked, plus they get broken. They leave red indentations about the sides of the nose plus they gather dust in a fashion that seems to defy gravity. The contact, however, is merely susceptible to getting dry, but a drop or a couple of saline may take good care of that. Moreover, where once upon a time someone were required to have a pair until their prescription changed with the way glass lenses were created and since these were so expensive, nowadays there are disposable, soft lenses. Furthermore, there exists a wide array of cheap lenses, making them easily replaceable and highly affordable.

Addititionally there is the matter of colored contacts. Unlike glasses, these give a person the opportunity to change his / her the color of eyes, which can be something a lot of people appreciate. Brown, amber, grey, light blue, fast, light green, green, purple, violet, pretty much every color inside the spectrum is accessible.

For that reason, even those who have 20/20 vision sometimes choose cosmetic contact lenses. These may take the form of a colored contact or they may be cosmetic contact lenses. Frequently, novelty and color lenses usually are not synonymous with cheap lenses, but they’re not incredibly expensive. Needless to say, it depends upon what style one wants.

Anyway, a novelty lens could mean many things. They may be cat’s eye lenses, or they may take a look at snake eyes. You can find white contact lenses, black ones, and red ones; some have spiral designs as well as any variety of other symbols. The adventurous person might wear these every day; others might use them for costume parties or Halloween festivities.

Back to cosmetic contact lenses, they give people the ability to change their look daily. If an individual so desires, their eye color could match their outfit everyday. Just because a large amount of people frequently wish that they an eye color distinctive from what they were born with, there is a large market for these types of lenses. Novelty lenses are only as common in some scenes and cultures. For many, however, an individual who actually needs contacts to find out should probably prevent the novelty ones. Many of them are so opaque that it’s impossible to see out of them. The same cannot be said for colored lenses, that are just as translucent as clear ones.
