Intern Files Complaint Over Trauma from KYC Verifications

Is it a new trend?

Mon January 15, 2018 (Seattle, WA) — — A 22 year old intern and cryptocurrency enthusiast known only as “Bill” filed a workman’s comp claim Thursday, saying he’d suffered significant trauma and injury from his work verifying user accounts in an upcoming “blockchain ICO”.

Devil grin?

He said the shocking disregard for lighting, angle, look — and sometimes even basic hygiene — found in KYC selfies had left him severely depressed and unable to get up for work in the morning.

Among the intern’s complaints, listed with the state OSHA board in a formal action, were a number of KYC selfies involving unwashed clothes/hair, bare beer bellies, unconventional piercings and at least one “devil grin” (though the specifics of this were not clear).

The intern would not comment specifically on full nudes being sent for KYC, as had been reported elsewhere, but would not rule out that it had happened.

“Let’s just say I’ve seen alot and it’s more than I wanted to. I had to be bonded for this job. I’m a professional.”

One ICO participant known as “Steve” gave a different perspective.

“How are we supposed to know what the company wants? How well do you want to know your customer ? Am I a mind reader?,” said Steve with annoyance. “I just want to make sure I’m fully verified so I can get in on the presale and get rich! When moon?!”

Bill says the company needed to do better education in the community about what constitutes acceptable practice in taking KYC selfies.

“I get it,” he said.. “No one wants to be a tool for money laundering, but come on. You just can’t “unsee” some things. It gets to you in ways you wouldn’t expect. Someone needs to take responsibility before real damage occurs.”
