If you love the fantasy map look, but don’t want to make maps per se, this is the post for you! This week I’m sharing some of last month’s tests with a vintage illustration style.

Let’s get into it!

Prompt & Variables

This is a very simple prompt, but it’s effective and consistent.

Change the variable in brackets for pretty much any subject:

Detailed infographic map of [a sci-fi research facility], ornate, decorative border, parchment, intricate colored marker illustration — ar 1:1 — v 6

Detailed infographic map of [a futuristic sports car], ornate, decorative border, parchment, intricate color pen and ink illustration — ar 4:3 — v 6

Vary the aspect ratio depending on your subject.

It also works great for characters, and this tends to add actual map elements:

This subject makes a great poster.

Detailed infographic map of a fantasy RPG character, female rogue, ornate, decorative border, parchment, intricate color oil painting — ar 2:3 — v 6

Note I changed the aspect ratio here, I love the portrait size.
