Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) are becoming increasingly common. Millionaires are being made from ICOs daily, or at least that’s what it seems like. ICOs are not the same as IPOs and I want to point out the major difference between the two.

**IPOs are an expectation of dividends for obtained shares, whereas ICOs are an opportunity to get a project specify currency before the project is implemented for much cheaper price.

ICOs are disrupting tokens as we know it — it has shifted towards a crowdfunding way of funding. This is good news, because every persone can get a piece of the action and make a sizable reward.

Here are 5 reasons to invest in an ICO:

1. It’s very unlikely that the ICO token price will be worth less than inception

One of the only exceptions to this reason is if the created amount of tokens is drastically larger than the amount of tokens offered to the participants.

2. Be a part of the community

Because ICOs are “grassroots funding,” you’ll be able to be a part of a community that gives direction to the cryptocurrency after the ICO. The community will also help keep creators responsible and accountable.

3. Early Bird Prices

If you’re familiar with Kickstarter, you’ll know that an early bird price means discounted price and it’s only available for the first few. First come, first serve.

Take Ethereum for example:

1 Ether at ICO price: $0.35–0.40

1 Ether at time of writing: $242.62

If you remember having a chance to participate in Ethereum ICO and you didn’t — my condolences. The main point is — ICOs can be incredibly cheap if the cryptocurrency is well-received.

4. Fast Returns

You can see unbelievably quick growth in ICOs. Ethereum’s ICO was in July 2014-August 2014 and the exchange rate was 1 bitcoin = 2000 ether. At the time of writing, 1 bitcoin = 28 ether. The price went from $0.40 to $459.52 in a matter of 3 years. It’s growing… exponentially.

5. Developed countries are starting to accept cryptocurrencies

This is excellent news for everyone involved in cryptocurrencies. The more that cryptos are accepted, the higher the value and credibility. More and more countries are recognizing cryptocurrencies as a form of payment and they are creating regulations around it, again adding credibility.

These are good signs that cryptocurrencies will grow in value.

Cryptocurrencies are brining all us to the future world and are now considered to be an attractive way to store your money. The reward often outweighs the risks.
