Rise of the Christian Meme (+ 10 Relatable Memes for Believers)

“Two pastors with petty dreams to make petty memes”. Cue @epicchristianmemes — a Christian meme account with over 660,000 followers. Any Christian Instagrammer worth their salt must admit that the mighty meme culture canyon has deepened in light of the soft-but-sure faith renaissance we’re witnessing (more on that another time). The early 2010s may have brought the meme mainstream, but 2023 has gifted Christians of every kind a plethora of hilarious internet content.
If you recoil at the beauty and staidness of the Christian faith being reduced to 1x1 comedy bites, understand we’re not totally sure about it either. When I asked the writing team, they unanimously agreed there’s a fine line between lighthearted humor and mockery. Clearly, we weren’t the first to question whether memes are unholy:
