Yep, great distinction. I’m not saying Uber is the answer, by the way, or even a good example. Merely a type. I’d think a local Uber for each city, with the predominant player being public transport authority, would be a much better solution. But the dynamics are non-grid; as in off-route, off-timetable. Issues there too, but interesting. And yes relies on centralised infrastructures but everything does. That’s OK. Describes an important kind of innovation not recognised by Silicon Valley, described well by Mariana Mazzucato. I’m interested in that, but also the dynamics of the service at the user end.
