I agree with Nick that a regular label is much better than the disappearing/floating label in Google’s Material Design.

The floating label moves and shrinks. Both of those things are very bad for people with some types of disabilities (for example: ADHD, motion sensitivity, or poor vision).

Worst of all: the disappearing/floating label is completely unnecessary. A permanent, clear label above the box is easier for everyone.
