This is an excellent point.
Your example is good and it illustrates a different point: do not use input field sizes that are several times bigger than the expected input.
US ZIP codes are 5 digits, or 9 for people who prefer to use ZIP=4. If you’re only accepting 5 digits, then it’s best to use an input box that’s no more than 6 or 7 digits wide.
