Rolling off the clock today…

Today was the first day in what feels like a really long time that I wasn’t on the clock and being crushed by time. The week really sprinted to a finale in the late afternoon yesterday. Spending the evening among some really great people in an environment surrounded by really positive energy was a great way to cap off a very intense week.

I woke up today feeling refereshed and like the clock had stopped or at least been temporarily put on hold. Whatever it was, I didn’t investigate the feeling too deeply and decide to just roll with it. I’m really glad I did. I allowed myself to take some extra time to do each thing I needed to do and didn’t put any sharp time constraints on my activities.

Surprisingly enough, I got everything done I wanted to get done, plus a little bit more, at a pace in which I was able to catch my breath, breathe and really enjoy each activity and interaction throughout the day. This experience is in direct contrast to what I usually feel, which is not necessarily taking the time to enjoy the things that I’m doing, buzz through each interaction like it is a quick transaction, all the while feeling like I’m always behind and not getting done what needs to be done!

I’m not quite sure what clicked today. What I am sure of is that I like it and hope to figure out how to let and help it happen more often!
