What does Just Rolling With It mean to You?
I’m really curious about this, since one primary goal I have for this blog is to build a community and spark conversations with others who might be coming from a similar place and experiencing similar things, have been in a similar place and have found effective ways to get to better places, or may just be figuring out that they’re in a similar place.
When I say a similar place, the definition of similar place seems to be evolving for me. Here are some of the characteristics of the similar place that seem to be emerging -
1 — Work in what could be a high stress environment, for any number of reasons.
2 — Work with high levels of internal and external expectations.
3 — Don’t always strike the healthiest balance between work and non-work activities.
4 — Have lots of things to explore and develop, however don’t necessarily have the time to explore and develop everything you might want to explore and develop, some of which may help you to strike a healthier balance between work and non-work activities.
5 — Apply a lot of internal energy to 1-4, thinking that the best way to approach, manage, and push through them is to be in a heightened sense of alert and responsiveness, which consistently triggers an intense stress response, which can, over time, lead to a consistent high level of internal stress, that becomes accepted as normal and required.
I’m hoping and expecting that these characteristics continue to evolve over time. For now, this seems like a decent start toward communicating where I’m coming from and where I think the things I’ve been writing about may best connect, with people who may be or have been, similar situations.
So to me, Just Rolling With It means to try and figure out how to do things just a little bit better, by making them a little bit easier.
I’m really curious to see how these definitions resonate with you, the reader -
A — Does Just Rolling With It have a completely different connotation to you? Since I’ve adopted, rather than created, the phrase, I’m sure that there are tons of different ways people think about it.
B — What do you think of when you think about doing things a little bit better, by making them a little bit easier? Does it mean doing more in less time? Does it mean doing less? Does it mean something completely different? What does better mean? What does easier mean?
