Here’s a cheerful entryway a customer requested for their side yard. We added a stamped concrete sidewalk, which leads to the mudroom by their kitchen. This area was previously planted in grass. The sod had a tendency to turn muddy whenever it rained, or when the snow thawed in the springtime.

To prevent all this mud and dirt getting tracked into the house, the homeowners wanted a durable and easy to clean surface. Our client agreed that adding an attractive sidewalk is a bit more interesting than a flat expanse of grass, gravel or dirt.

Concrete Cobblestone Sidewalk

We added a custom stamped concrete walkway using a flat cobblestone pattern with a light gray grout overlay. Stamped concrete is easy to keep clean, all you have to do is use a broom to brush away any dirt and debris. For more stubborn mud, we let the homeowners know they can use their pressure washer whenever necessary.

The medium brick color of the sidewalk surface is sealed with a semi-matt finish to lock in the color and provide a water resilient surface. The sealer will need to be reapplied every few years to maintain the color and protect the sidewalk from the elements.

At Salzano Custom Concrete we specialize in stamped concrete and concrete overlay projects. We can install your next exterior or interior design project such as a basement floor, outdoor kitchen or pool deck. Our showroom is in Centreville, VA and we service the northern Virginia area.
