Enterprises have numerous ‘System of Records’ with several silo Analytics platforms. Besides, most organizations have scalable, centralized Data Lake and Data Warehouses on hybrid platforms to deliver their Analytics workloads using Dashboards and Reports.

The main challenges w.r.t. Analytics remains today are mainly:

  1. Not delivering the right Data Analytics Platform in the first place. Cost and complexity of maintaining existing Data Analytics Platforms.
See the related Modern BI Architecture series.
  2. Improving the maturity of Business Intelligence to the next level and become insight and/or intelligence-driven organization.
See related Enterprise Intelligence article here.
  3. Lack of proper Data Science Lifecycle (CDML) platform. CDML is also one of the capabilities required for insight/intelligence driven organization.
    See related CD4ML article here.
  4. Use/Integrate all of the data silos in the organization found in different formats and types.
See related Data Fabric article here.
  5. Poor Data Management, Security, Governance, Compliance across hybrid platforms.
See related article on how Big Data Governance can help.
  6. Lack of Data & AI strategy, poor ownership, data gaps, leadership and limited success/business value delivered.
See related article on Data Strategy.
  7. Slow and costly delivery timelines of new data products.
  8. Migration to Cloud , Data Synchronization & Data Integration.
  9. Lack of understanding, experience, and skills.

I will approach all of these challenges in a series of posts with the links provided above to related articles…
