Emailing Mark Cuban & Getting A Reply
Last weekend I sent out a draft Medium story to a handful of friends asking for feedback. Included in the draft piece was a story of me emailing Mark Cuban. There was a genuine curiosity from individuals wanting to know all the details around it.
How Did You Get His Email?
Surprisingly it isn’t that hard to track down emails of individuals with Google especially when they make them fairly public & known. When I found what I believed to be his email I reached out to an acquaintance that could confirm if it was his or not. They confirmed it was his email and that he still used it.
What did the email say & include?
The email included a pitch deck for our startup. It is extremely important to remember you’re taking up an individual’s time. The email was written around this. The emailed I sent was this:
Hello Mark,
I don’t want to waste any of your time; Attached is our pitch deck.
You said during an interview, “If everyone is doing it then it isn’t probably the future”
We’re doing eSports betting. Hit me up if you like what you see.

What Happened?
Shortly I received a reply from him asking for additional information, financials, metrics or benchmarks. I followed up with our situation and told him I’d keep him posted with an update in 3 months time.
Nothing has unfolded from the replies but who knows what the future holds because of it. Better to reach out and get a reply than never to try.
