Good article, but I’d caution against pulling a blind reference from Peter Theil — this is what he said just above your reference:

Deny. I like “Star Wars” way better. I’m a capitalist. “Star Wars” is the capitalist show. “Star Trek” is the communist one. There is no money in “Star Trek” because you just have the transporter machine that can make anything you need. The whole plot of “Star Wars” starts with Han Solo having this debt that he owes and so the plot in “Star Wars” is driven by money.
…which means he totally missed the main plot point of “Star Wars”, and decided to use his own agenda to rationalize what ‘his’ plot of Star wars was. It just means you can’t take what he says at face value. But that shouldn’t be a surprise.
…and in writing this comment, I realize I trolled this article with a meaningless Star Wars reference. Meh, good article nonetheless. I’ll melt all that sweet design sugar into GUI candy (pun intended).
