This is a great blog that explains the 2 popular touchscreen technology nowadays. We may not know the kind of touchscreen technology being used in our smartphones. We can get more information about these technologies right on this blog. There are 2 touchscreen technologies popular in our gadgets: resistive and capacitive. Resistive touch has a several layers that are separated by a thin gap. The layers are coated with a conductive material mostly an Indium Tin Oxide (ITO). We can use our finger, stylus pen, or any not-so-pointed material to work the screen. It is cheaper and has a high resistance to dust or water compared to capacitive. Meanwhile, a projected capacitive touchscreen has a glass insulator panel coated with a transparent conductor. To manipulate the screen we need an electrodes and only human body produces it. So, our fingertips can only make the device to work. This is more accurate, yet expensive, and can support a multi-touch sensor. It has a brighter contrast than resistive. That’s the difference between the two touchscreen technologies. Thanks for sharing this.
