For the final project, Sarah and I were tasked with updating the Future Walk app, notably the part that goes with the harpsichord in Berlin’s Museum of Musical Instruments. We were asked to create an interaction that would allow visitors to experience the harpsichord without disturbing other museum guests. To do this, we went with a MIDI DJ experience. Users can choose a genre, and then a song out of that genre, and play the song through the MIDI keypad on screen. Upon pressing the keys, audio snippets play and 3D/2D objects appear with animation in the world around them, letting users grow an AR forest with the sounds they make.
