Why We Need Business School Reform
Mei Chang

this was a great read — very interesting. coming from an arts background, my conception of business school is basically like the episode of 30 Rock where Liz Lemon goes to a Six Sigma course with Jack.

i wonder how these programs approach managing people, or if management is really a separate specialty. in my (limited!) experience, you can have a great team of skilled people, but if you don’t know how to manage them, any number of things can hold the team back. we spend so much of our time at work, and our managers can either be a source of guidance, growth and personal development, but most of the time it seems like everyone just tolerates a certain level of dysfunction at work as a given.
