I love this — it’s absolutely spot on. I just read Mark Manson’s “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck”, and this reminds me of his fault/responsibility chapter — things are going to happen, and even though they may not be your fault, you are still responsible for how you react nonetheless. It’s easy to lay blame on outside circumstances, harder to accept that we ALWAYS have a choice in how we respond.
