Women share what it’s really like to pump breast milk at work

I was working for a popular donut franchise the last time I was nursing. I only had a five hour shift, but I did have to pump one time during my shifts. My boss would not allow me to use his office (the only room with a lock in the building), so I had to use the public bathroom, and there was nowhere to sit and no outlet in there, so I brought an extension cord and dragged a chair from the dining room. My boss would get very upset that I was making customers uncomfortable by sitting next to the door to pump and that I was impacting business by removing chairs from the dining room, which you have to sanitize after being in the restroom. I did not work there very long (about 8 weeks) because the situation was so intolerable.
