Years ago I met Caroline Weber after she spoke about her book at my college; we started talking about memoirs and she mentioned that Marie Antoinette’s hairdresser had (allegedly) written one. I still remember her saying “It’s probably all fake and was written by someone trying to slander the aristocracy, but you really should track them down, it’s a fabulous read.” Which also kind of sums up Marie Antoinette (person and film) in a way.
