For part two in this series we’re going to zoom into part of one story we came across through our interviews. You really never know what you’re going to hear, as you’re about to see.

The Loaded Gun

Brad was selling his home. Things were going peachy: he had an offer accepted and, if all went well, would be closing on the house in a short time.

One day Brad awoke early in the morning to the sound of a stranger in his house. He could hear the person walking from room to room downstairs.

He reached into his nightstand and pulled out a loaded Glock, ready to go.

His mind flashed to the night, when he was eleven years old, a group of men entered his bedroom, covered his face with his blanket, and stabbed him a dozen times. He survived okay, but the memory was horrible. As a result, he was a light sleeper and always armed and ready.

Brad realized he was in his underwear, and not wanting to confront a possible home intruder immodestly, jumped into his walk in closet to pull on some pants.

While he was in there, pants in one hand, Glock in the other, he realized what day it was.

“Hello who’s there?” he called loudly.

“Hello, the home inspector.” was the call back.

No one was harmed that day.
